One year down!

It is still a little mystery how this:

Can turn into this:

Dear Layla Lou,
It seems like it was just yesterday that I met you for the first time. I was in love with you from the moment the doctor put you on my chest and I held you. This 1st year of your life has gone by in a blink of an eye. I would get busy and then you would make me slow down and I would smell you in and think, "slow down Shana and enjoy this little baby because she is growing up way too fast." I'm glad I listened too because you did grow out of the baby stage way too fast. You have been such a happy and easy going baby. I don't know if that is just how you came to us, or if you just learned real quick that you had to be patient with me because I have 3 girls to meet the needs of in our home. Thank you for loving me even though I am not a perfect momma. I know I won't always do everything right, but I will love you everyday of my life no matter what. You have been such a calming and loving addition to our family. Your sisters and your daddy and have felt it everyday since you were born. You make all of us smile bigger and our days brighter.
Happy Birthday my baby girl!

At 1 year you are still sucking your thumb when you are tired, taking a good long nap in the day, loves anything with bananas, walking, and saying hi, bye, and dadda. I'm still waiting for you to say momma. Sadly it hasn't happened yet. Why? Boohoo!

This is such a sweet post! I loved the part where you thanked her for loving you even though you weren't perfect. I felt that right in my bones. So get it. Love and miss you, my dear! xoxo
